The 6-foot-11 Rakocevic, an inside-outside threat who usually comes off the bench, is trying to find his role for a USC team brimming with NBA prospects and national title aspirations. Rakocevic played in every game last season, averaging 5.2 points and 3.7 rebounds in 14.9 minutes per game.
But the sophomore forward and former St. Joseph standout rolled his ankle on Nov. 13 during the Trojans’ win against North Dakota State. Coach Andy Enfield said he would miss a few days.
Plus, USC was among the schools implicated in an FBI investigation regarding corruption in NCAA men’s basketball. Last month, Rakocevic told Pioneer Press that USC was “obviously in a predicament” and that he was “shocked” by the findings.
