Cairns teenage BMX star Wade Mundie is riding high after claiming a swag of major awards in the past month at meetings across Australia.

Mundie, 15, won his third consecutive BMX Queensland State Junior Championship along with the Senior Male R.I.D.E award at Townsville last month before taking out the Northern Territory BMX junior and men’s titles.

The talented rider, who travelled to the US to compete in July, also recently received funding from the North Queensland Sports Foundation to help him attend more races in the future.

“It’s great because I want to travel to the US and hit the world stage,” Mundie said of his recent success. “Hopefully I can become a professional in the next couple of years.
